A 7th Grade Student’s Final Project
Tompkins Square Middle School
In early July, 2024, EngageAI programming began at the Tompkins Square Middle School Summer Rising Program for 7th and 8th grade students. The five-session curriculum covered the basics of Machine Learning, Generative AI, Image Classification Models, Natural Language Processing, real-world applications of AI and culminated with a Capstone Project. In the Capstone, students “created” (drew) an AI-powered robot/website that solves a problem they care about.
“I recommend this AI class to any program that serves the youth! His program is interesting, engaging, and really fun for the students. Thanks to the AI class we have students discussing possibly working in a tech field when they get of age!”
