“We aspire to foster a hands-on learning environment in which students ascertain knowledge relating to different spheres of the AI revolution (i.e. technical questions, ethical dilemmas, etc). As an institution, EngageAI values making Artificial Intelligence accessible to all and prizes itself on its commitment to diversity. We believe that students with varied academic interests, extracurricular hobbies, and socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds deserve the opportunity to learn about and be engaged in the Artificial Intelligence revolution.”

  • Vihaan Kotahwala is the founder and instructor at EngageAI, and a high school senior at the Dalton School in New York City. In January of 2023, he embarked on his journey in Artificial Intelligence with an independent study in ML and AI. Inspired by the vast inequality of educational resources around Artificial Intelligence, Vihaan decided to start an educational programming institution, EngageAI, to support the next generation of leaders and ensure that every student has an equal opportunity to succeed in an AI-driven world.

Artificial Intelligence is set to transform our lives in countless ways, from how we work and learn to how we communicate and even relax. Like past tech revolutions, the people who get the chance to understand and master AI will gain the most, while others might miss out. At EngageAI, we think every student deserves a solid AI education to get ready for the future. That's why we've built our program around five key pillars to make sure we're teaching in the best way possible.

  • Connection

    At any school, program or institution, connecting with the student body personally and academically is so important to finding success in the classroom as an educator. By building relationships with students, we build a sense of comfort, safety and trust in our classrooms. Furthermore, understanding individuals enables us to provide programming that’s personalized and targeted.

  • Adaptation

    Each class and school possesses different needs, interests and abilities. Maintaining a commitment to flexibility and willingness to seamlessly adapt is an EngageAI priority.

  • Accessibility

    EngageAI’s primary agenda is to provide quality education to all. This means that all educational resources are made completely public. Additionally, EngageAI’s programming is specifically engineered to be accessible to students with a wide variety of different interests and learning styles.

  • Creativity

    EngageAI places creativity at the forefront of curriculum development. Students should be pushed to think in new ways and pursue innovative projects — creativity is deeply embedded within the EngageAI classroom philosophy as well.

  • Fun

    EngageAI firmly believes that successful learning occurs when students are having fun. We strive to promote an atmosphere in which laughter, smiling and joy is greatly encouraged.
