YMCA Vanderbilt

EngageAI conducted their flagship curriculum at two YMCA sites: YMCA Vanderbilt and YMCA Long Island City. At YMCA Vanderbilt, AI programming reached roughly 50 students in grades 4-8. Students learned about the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing and applications of Artificial Intelligence through five-sessions of game-based lessons. The middle schoolers finished with a Capstone Project, “creating” an AI-powered robot/website that solves a problem that they care about.

I would definitely recommend this AI program to other schools and facilities. This generation of kids/students are raised in an era of electronics so this is a perfect way to get there attention and keep them engaged.

AI Programming at BCNY

At YMCA Long Island City, EngageAI conducted programming for 60 students in grades 5-8. The six-session course reached a diverse variety of students and was taught in both English and Spanish, as there was a large Spanish speaking community. Students had the opportunity to present their Capstones at the YMCA Long Island City final showcase in early August.

This program was very fun for the kids and my staff enjoyed seeing the kids participate it as well. The students said they had a good time and enjoyed using the sites to create their own AI concepts.
